Kashmir valley, also known as 'The Heaven on the Earth' is a renowned Tourist place for the visitors accross the globe. Kashmir is blessed with four distinct seasons like Chilled Winter, following mild cold spring, then a pleasant Summer and a colourful autumn. All the seasons have some special characteristics and attractive in tourism point of view.
This year winter is delayed in Kashmir by almost a month. So, in this spring season we have witnessed the beauty of flowers at the valley and snow in the adjacent mountains.
Kashmir is blessed with Asia's biggest Tulip Garden which is located at foothills of Zabarwan ranges of Himalayas and named after India's renounced Prime minister Late Indira Gandhi. Every year this garden is kept open for visitors when flowers bloom. Earlier it was April 01-30. Now, due to climate change this flowering season begins March last week and lasted for a month. This year the garden opened on March 23, 2024.

My days at Nicobar: Memory Revisited after 6 years

Andaman & Nicobar Islands: These words are something special to me. Because, I was able to know myself during my staying at Katchal Island of Nicobar district. I was there as an Agricultural assistant for rehabilitation project of Tsunami affected areas of Nicobar Islands during April 2005 to May 2006. Mr. Abu Bakkar, Ex Joint Director, Department of Agriculture, A & N Islands was the team leader and Mr. Ravi George,  Mr. Ajoy Kumar and Er. V. Sashi Kumar were three other assistants along with me in our team.
We had started vegetable production for the first time in that Island. We had developed hectars of coconut plantations in that region.
We often visited other parts of the Island ( Upper Katchal) by Fibre made mechanised boat. The journey was awesome indeed.

We had excavated a pond for better use of rain water and for irrigation purpose also.
